Being a good Muslim is easy.

My ex husband was raised in Singapore. He got tattoos all over his bodies. He moved to Malaysia due to some cases he did back in Singapore.

I remembered how he told me that, when he Malaysia came across his mind, he thought of Muslim and Islam. We all know that we, Malaysian have been taught of Islamic Studies since we are young until the secondary school. So he thought that we were exposed on how perfect Islam as a religion and he always thought that Muslim in Malaysia must have known that Islam is the religion of peace.

Different from in Singapore, they have to go to private school (normally they called it madrasah) to learn about Islam and to read the Quran.

But, unfortunately, when he started his life here, in Malaysia, he was dissapointed by Muslims over here. Muslims in Malaysia are not as what he has been thinking for all this while. He knows, not all Muslim in Malaysia are that bad but, still, he feels dissapointed. He have been judged because of his tattoos and piercings, he think that Muslim in Malaysia are judgemental, discriminate between their own brothers and sisters, they like to downgrade person who are different from them. They downgrading women without their hijaab on, they being racist towards the non-believer and etc.

At first, i wasn't 100% realized that what he has been telling me was right but it shows it all now.

I am dissapointed towards myself for not being a good example to him or maybe to the non-believers.

I think, the least we can do is we need to stop from being a judgemental Muslims. We need to show good examples. As simple as being kind-hearted to all of His creatures. That is the most basic thing that we need to practise. Don't you think so?
